Eric Stoltz in ‘Back to the Future’
Long before he was turning tricks for Tarantino as a coke dealer in 'Pulp Fiction' Eric Stoltz was one of the original bratpackers, and was heading for success with a part in 'Back to the future' I don't know the story behind why he dropped out/got fired but it's still cool to see the stills.
I say cool, but it's more just weird seeing someone different play the same character in a movie you know really well… very Bizarro world.
The only reason I even know about it was because I was reading an interview with Gil Kenan the director of new CGI fest 'Monster House' in empire, and he mentioned he had been asking Robert Zemeckis about the fabled 'Stoltz' footage, and if it would ever see the light of day as a dvd extra. It seems as if these images are the closest we'll ever get.

This is nuts, i’ve never even heard of this before. I’ve always wanted to see the footage of Nicole Kidman in panic room, before the role got given to Jodie Foster
I think they mentioned it in an old Kirk Cameron-hosted special of BTTF.
Awesome. I love seeing this kind of thing, like the footage of Selleck doing screen tests for Indiana Jones, makes me wonder how different things could have been.
I remember a teaser trailer with Eric Stoltz in theatres before Zemekis made the switch to Michael J. Fox. Does anyone know where I can find this teaser trailer?
This was a well know story back on the days, Stoltz sued the studios couse they fire him at last minute, his stateman was that loosing that role , ruins his reputation and make him loose money and the oscar nomination for Mask. He lost.
