If you've never read the graphic novel '30 days of night' I advise you to, not only is it a killer concept the artwork is amazing (see left, click to make it bigger). We talked about the film adaptation before, and there have been various bits and pieces of news leaking out over the last couple of weeks about casting and about the films production. Josh Hartnett has been cast as the lead, Sheriff Eben Olemaun, with Melissa George as his wife.

David Slade has been signed onto direct for a while, and after the fantastic 'Hard Candy' I have ultimate faith in the guy, plus the guy used to direct Aphex Twin videos, and we know how terrifying those can be.

With two toung 'yet to prove themselves' actors cast as the leads, it will be interesting to see how David Slade reigns them in.
