First stills from ‘Day of the Dead’ remake

day of the dead remake photosThe Steve Miner directed remake of 'Day of the Dead' is something we've discussed before briefly, the movie is currently shooting in eastern europe.

The story of the original focuses around a group of survivors made up of the public and soldiers that have secured themselves inside an underground military silo. Including one army doctor who runs tests on a zombie called 'bub' hoping for signs of recognition or cognitive thought. Making way for one of the best lines in cinematic history from the one of the military men; "I'm running this monkey farm now Frankenstein" everytime I watch it, it gets better.

The military man in question was 'Captain Rhodes' played in the original Joe Pilato, a rumour circulated that the role in the remake would be played by 'Ving Rhames', and from the look of these stills that rumour appears to be correct. Despite Rhames also being in the 'Dawn' remake, the characters have no connection. The stories are set in the same world but with an entirely new set of characters.

Our friend Michael over at moviesonline has the scoop on the images.
