‘I am Legend’ gets shooting date
This story was posted on comingsoon a couple of days ago. The production of 'I am legend' is due to start filming on September the 23rd, for a shoot that will last 6 months+. I was aware of the plot when I started reading about the film a couple of months ago, last man on earth, everyone else is a vampire etc, but the synopsis they have on comingsoon made my excitement level step up to code amber.
Smith plays Robert Neville, the last living man on Earth… but he is not alone. Every other man, woman, and child has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood.
By day, he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn.
Awesome.
The movies director is Francis Lawrence, who previously directed 'Constantine' and before that some music videos. This makes me worried. I think Constantine was ruined largely by the over-calculation of Keanu's acting ability. Watching the guy trying to deliver lines about biblical propheices was like watching my grandparents dry hump… awkward. I'm not sure if those problems can be attributed to the director, but I would feel a lot more comfortable if Ridley Scott was still in charge (Scott had signed on as director for a while, but it never got off the ground)

Well, thats the plot of the book but according to a report posted on AICN a week ago the Will Smith film seems more 'Omega' and less 'Legend' […]
