‘Journey to the End of the Night’ stills and poster

Journey to the end of the nightI stumbled across this film for two reasons, one I read about it being shown at the Tribeca film festival, but also because I just saw the poster over at impawards.com. The films headline stars are Brendan Fraser, Mos Def and 'the thinking man's David Carradine' Scott Glenn.

The plot goes a little something like this…One of the most dangerous cities in the world is São Paulo, Brazil. It's in the city's underworld of sex, drugs, money, and corruption that a father and son plan to finally escape this vicious and dangerous underworld. Journey to The End of The Night is Eric Eason's gritty sophomore feature, and stars Brendan Fraser, Scott Glenn, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Mos Def.

The film's only announced release date is for the U.S, on the 1st of October.

Check out some (very Wong Kar Wai looking) stills from the film over in our flickr account here

For what it’s worth, I saw this @ Tribeca and thought it was just horrendous. I’m a fan of Fraser’s, but he was truly awful, and the audience got more and more amused as the movie took itself more and more seriously. That said, Mos Def was pretty good, but his work was so different from that of everyone else in the cast that it only served to make things worse.

That poster rocks, very cool kinda reminds me of old noir posters. Bummer about the movie being rubbish.

[…] Solace in Cinema has the poster and a wide variety of photo stills for Journey to the End of the Night, and yes, they are reminiscent of Wong Kar Wai/Christopher Doyle. The film stars Brendan Fraser, Scott Glenn, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Mos Def (who coincidentally has a new album coming out on September 19th: “True Magic”). Set in Brazil, a father and son set to break out from the “underworld of sex, drugs, money, and corruption”. […]

Yeah, it was definitely pretty — lots of deep reds, particularly. Just unfortunately self-absorbed and, well, crappy.
