John Madden was the guy who used to lend his name to sega american football titles wasn't he? oh apparently there's more than one. The other John Madden is a director, one who has a strong history of 'movies i'm not bothered about seeing' films like 'Proof', 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'Mrs Brown'. All films i'm sure that are very good, but just never came up on my radar.

Madden's new film seem's to have jumped into completely new territory for him genre-wise. Killshot is a thriller starring Mickey Rourke, Thomas Jane and Joseph Gordon-Levitt;

Beautiful Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) and her ironworker husband Wayne (Thomas Jane) are placed in the Federal Witness Protection program after witnessing an extortion scheme go wrong. Thinking they are at last safe, they are targeted by an experienced intimidating hit man (Mickey Rourke) and a psychopathic young upstart killer (Joe Gordon Levitt). The ensuing struggle will test Carmen to the limit.

That synopsis makes it sound lame, but it really does look quite good.
