Uk trailer for ‘the Host’, In cinemas today!
Wooooo Hooooo!!!, I've been waiting for 'The Host' for what seems like forever and finally i'll get a chance to see it. There was a screening of the film earlier in the year at 'Frightfest' I missed it, and have been kicking myself ever since.
If you're not aware of the film (which i'm sure anyone reading this site will be, as i've been banging on like a nagging wife about it for months) It's basically a South-Korean monster movie or "creature feature" as horror nerds like to say, about a giant lizard that appears from the Han river and proceeds to chomp on some school children.
South Korea are loving the monster movies at the moment and they're doing a great job with them, not to be confused with North Korean monster movies not really of the same quality, and largely about the 'monster' that is the capitalist west.
The Host is in cinemas from today (November 11th) and you can check out the trailers here..Large trailer medium and small
Oh you are going to love it. I saw it ages ago at the Edinburgh Film Festival and gave it a stonking review. It’s a fair mix of different genres all pulled into one film very well. The surprising thing is the comedy hits well alongside the drama, thriller and social commentary. Why there’s a need by the US to remake this already I don’t know, despite it being a foreign film it does hit home so well.
