The one thing that always strikes me about these asian epics (Hero, House of Flying Daggers) is the sheer scale of them. I don't know how much cgi they use for the big battle sequence in this trailer, if any, but i'd really like to find out. I liked Hero, but I preffered House of Flying Daggers, but then Crouching Tiger ranks above all of them for me. Who knows maybe 'Curse of the Golden Flower' will knock the 'Hidden Dragon' off of my top spot.

The synopsis for the film is long, so I won't post it, but you can gather from the trailer it's about, An Emperor(Chow Yun Fat) and Empress(Gong Li) turn on each other, and start a war. So it's like 'War of the Roses'? perhaps not. Curse is directed by Zhang Yimou, the man behind the lens on Hero and Flying Daggers, so you know we're in safe hands, and i'm just happy we finally get some ninjas (ok pedants, It's china, I know, Ninjas are Japanese, but the shot in the trailer with all the assasin guys zip lining down to the palace (pictured above) is close enough for me).
