On thursday, Perry Henzell, director of one of my favourite films of all time, The Harder they come, lost his fight against cancer after a long struggle. RIP

He was little known really, but 'The Harder they come' which starred Jimmy Cliff in the lead role, was an absolute classic. A film that whenever anyone watches it for the first time, they find themselves going out and buying loads of old reggae and dub music almost immediately. Such was the effect that this movie had on the popularisation of Jamaican music, that it goes down in history as a pioneering film for the genre. If you haven't seen it, you really should have.
