6 months too late, ‘Idiocracy’ trailer and clips

IdiocracyWith the R1 dvd release of Mike Judges ignored 'Idiocracy' just around the corner (January 9th) the trailer has finally turned up on amazon and some clips have been posted over on youtube. I've talked about it briefly before when some stills were released, but Idiocracy was buried by Fox and had a very limited theatrical release in the states and will almost certainly go straight to dvd in all the other territories. From the reports it was a real crime to treat this film as Fox have done, and apparently it's a great comedy, and up to Judges previous standard set by 'Office Space'.

Here's the plot synopsis:
"Joe Bauer (Luke Wilson), an Army librarian and by all accounts an average guy, volunteers to be the subject of a hibernation experiment that goes awry. He wakes up 1000 years in the future, discovering that he’s the smartest guy on the planet. With his new found friend Frito (Dax Shepard) he makes his way through a world populated entirely by imbeciles.

I just like the idea that people like Britney Spears pop out kids at a rate unheard of in most mammals yet the liberal educated people in society are too busy with their careers to reproduce. The result of it all is that the highest-rated show on tv is called "Ow, My Balls", a future that doesn't seem that far away.
