Another ‘Help! i’m trapped in a room’ movie

Captivity movieIf it wasn't bad enough that they already have 'Saw IIII' In production (liked the first one, really tired of it now), but we get thrown similar (read:derivative) movies like 'Unknown' and now this effort starring Elisha Cuthbert, 'Captivity'.

A man and a woman awaken to find themselves captured in a cellar. As their kidnapper drives them psychologically mad, the truth about their horrific abduction is revealed.

Snore. Elisha Cuthbert is mildly hot, but the length of time I can endure her on screen is short. The hotness soon gives way to annoyance and then I quickly want to see her killed. I already don't care how or when she gets out of the basement. I hope the films just about how she spends her time in the basement before the guy next door murders her.

The only redemptive factor might be that the director Roland Joffe has a couple of good films to his name; 'The Mission' and 'The Killing Fields' are both on there, but since the 1980's he seems to have languished, with the stand-out credit in the 90's being the director role on 'Super Mario Bros'. Ho hum.
