Different cuts of ‘The Fountain’ circulating in London

The FountainI received an interesting email from flipper01 telling me he noticed something odd after viewing 'The Fountain' at two different locations in London:

an odd little thing that happened when I went to see the Fountain the other day for the second time. I saw it first in the Vue, Leicester square, and it had the “death is a disease and I will find a cure” scene in it. But on Saturday, in the Odeon Mezzanine, it was cut. After some digging I found this, it seems they are screening the early comic-con cut of the film. a bit weird.

Very cool, I wonder if it's just that maybe they had some really early screenings of the fountain at the Vue and they just never changed the print (Although its a big place, not the kind of place they normally hold press screenings, but audience testing maybe). Still it's interesting that WB don't have tighter controls over things like this. Surely they want most people to see the same cut of the film?

I saw 'Apocalypto' at a preview before christmas and distinctly remember watching certain scenes that weren't in the film when I saw it at a paying cinema two weeks later; one in particular when you see the first-person perspective of a decapitated head as it rolls and bounces down the steps of a sacrificial tower. A scene it's difficult to forget, and honestly I was a bit upset when It wasn't in the film the second time round.
