You name a film and there’s probably a direct to dvd sequel in the works, if not one already exists and you were just unaware of it. That being said a sequel to ‘Point Break’ in any form would absolutely make my year. That’s actually a little sad when I read it back.. but fuck it… I LOVE Point Break.

Cinematical reports that Peter Iliff (Writer of the original Point Break.. and the post-apocalyptic roller-skating movie ‘Prayer of the Rollerboys’) is currently scouting locations in Singapore for ‘Point Break 2′. Keanu and Swayze have both been approached to feature in the film but Iliff has said that he plans to cast asian actors in leads. Point Break 2: Singapore drift?

“Iliff’s sequel, to be produced by Singapore-based company RGM Films at a cost of US$30 million and scheduled for release at the end of next year, will pick up Bodhi’s trail as he camps out in South-east Asia on the run from the authorities. The surfing action will take place in Indonesia. Singapore and Thailand are possible backdrops.”

Fuck yes. Bring it on. Some films that I loved when I was 14 I revisit occasionally.. and 90% of the time I’m like “shit.. this is terrible”.. but Point Break doesn’t grow old for me. As sad as that possibly is. Get Swayze back in a beard and Keanu back in.. well.. log-mode (something he’s never been out of) cast some bright young asian actors as the new ex-presidents (ex-asian presidents?) and you can count me in.
