solace in cinema : A vast wasteland of movies

Statham has carved out a great little niche for himself as the short-stocky-balding action-hero of the moment. I can’t say I really mind, The Transporter films are a lot of fun and ‘Crank’ was probably the best stupid action film i’ve seen in years… Chev Chelios..all hail. Jet-Li has nothing to prove either… you could say he’s not the most mind blowing actor you’ve ever seen, but by the time you got to “he’s” you’d have been roundhouse kicked to the face and be busy picking up bits of shattered teeth from the floor.

However The last time these two guys were paired up on screen we got the uber-crud ‘The One’ featuring Li doing a lot of Terminator-striding everywhere and Statham doing a very weird american accent “Yearrrr that’yl werk tuuuoo“.

I don’t know how long this has been sittiing on the shelf because it used to be titled ‘Rogue’ but I’m guessing because of Greg ‘Wolf Creek’ McLeans new giant alligator film being titled the same thing they’ve changed it. Well it looks rubbish anyway, and a lot like some Statham/Li fan has cut together bits from their other films and upped it to youtube with some bad rap-rock music over the top.

Bring on ‘Crank 2: Crank Harder’ and ‘Once Upon a time in China 9′ (if only)
