Trailer Round-up….
There was a lot of trailers released in the last week or so that I missed… so I though I’d write a quick post rounding them all up.
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
It’s a ridiculously long title but aparantly the film is amazing (According to early reporte from the Venice festival). It’s about time Casey Affleck stole some of the limelight from his jackass older brother too. They need to take the lead from Lee Van Cleef western’s in the 70’s … i’d re-title this film ‘The smell of the West’ … or perhaps ‘A Six Shooter named Death’

Stephen Kings The Mist
I really dig quite a few of the actors they’ve cast in this flick; Tom Jane is always solid, William Sadler is cool as fuck (The dude that does butt-naked greased up kung-fu moves in Die Hard 2… in case you were wondering) and Marcia Gay Harding is an amazing actress. Frank Darabont (Shawshank) is directing so It can’t really go far wrong. It also looks like a siege movie… and I loves me a good siege movie. Assault of Precinct 13… but with Mist.. and giant flying bugs… awesome.
Eye of the Dolphin
This looks weird… I didn’t even know they still made films like this anymore… I thought they died off with Free Willy 5. I can’t say i’m looking forward to it, unless of course the Dolphin turns super-smart and walks on land with an AK47.. now THAT’S a film..

Lions for Lambs
I’m not sure If I talked about this yet, but it’s a new political thriller directed by Robert Redford. Looks a bit like a cross between ‘The Rules of Engagement’ and ‘A Few Good Men’… soldiers in the field fighting, while politicians argue it out in Washington. Could be pretty good.

Eastern Promises
The UK cut of the trailer, it’s not massively different but does contain some new footage. Really looking forward to checking this out when the London Film Festival roles around

Predator vs Alien Requiem
I’m still not claiming this will be good, but even this trailer on its own is better than the whole of the first movie. It looks violent and gorey which is a good start, but thats not enough on its own.
