The Cloverfield Monster is a Whale? if only
I’m sure this is fan art.. but since I found it on a random design site, and the flickr stream is in spanish and gives no information about the image anyway…who knows…
If the Cloverfield beast turns out to be a fucking giant killer whale i’m interested in this film again.
**UPDATE** it’s been confirmed as fan art by cloverfield news, drawn by this guy.. ah well **
Check it out really big here

From the looks of that beast it’s a plankton feeder, which kind of cuts the terror quotient a little. Although it’s big. Maybe it can filter feed thousands of swimming humans. Still exceptionally cool, though. This monster would have made Titanic *much* better.

This is a totally homage to Godzilla. Cause in the Japanese Godzilla (Gorija) means Gorilla-Whale. I mean look at the drawing. It’s a giant whale shaped like a Gorilla. And in Godzilla Returns aka Godzilla 1985. Godzilla has these bugs that were living on him that grew bigger with Godzilla when he fed off the radioactive bombs.

First off, it’s Gojira, not Gorija…
Secondly, in Godzilla, 1985, there were no bugs living on Godzilla. You are probably being confused with Godzilla vs Destroya which indeed did focus on large insects that grew in size, but they were a result of the Oxygen Destroyer weapon used in the very first godzilla movie, and not related to nuclear weapons at all.

from what im gathering from some of the trailers i seen in the second trailer you can hear a women asking what it is and a guy says i saw it its a lion i could be wrong but listen to it yourself

the guy says it’s alive not its a lion. and in the trailor when it shows the huge monster going through the building (or what i think) it had hind legs. if it was the whale running the hind legs would be hidden behind its tail

Watch it be Godzilla. That’s why they’re keeping it a secret. But all we can really do right now is guess and wait for the release.
And LOL that thing really does look like Sin from FFX haha.

There was mutated “bugs” that lived on Godzilla’s body in “Godzilla 1985″. When that reporter boarded the ship the crew was dead and that huge “bug/louse” thing attacked him.

It is SO a rip off of Sin. Its even got parsites coming off it just like the game. The artwork is fantastic, but the artist should be ashamed for trying to pass it off as an original idea.
