It's clear that it's of the highest quality when I can honestly say I spotted none of these VFX when I saw it at the cinema. Apparently the new 2-disc edition is due on January the 8th in the US and it's being worked on by Charles de Lauzirika, the dvd producer who put together, among others, the incredible 10-disc Alien Quadrilogy set and the forthcoming (and what will surely be the release of the year) final cut of Bladerunner 5-disc uber set. Essentially, it's in good hands and I'm looking forward to seeing all the making-of docs. Awesome work. Zodiac (2007) de David Fincher contó con Digital Domain como empresa encargada de realizar algunos de los principales efectos digitales de la película. Una vez visto el vídeo en cuestión, que no lo vea el que no haya visto la peli, uno se pregunta cuál es el límite del uso de estas tecnologías para el cine. Supongo que la inclusión de estos efectos abarata enormemente la producción de un film y, en el caso de Zodiac, tengo que reconocer que resulta sorprendente enterarse de algunos detalles. Daba por hecho que secuencias como la del taxi, secuencia que considero genial, contaba con añadidos digitales para lograr la continuidad y el acercamiento del plano sin cortes, pero lo visto en el vídeo no me lo imaginaba. Tras el resultado ofrecido por Digital Domain me cuesta más comprender lo poco resultones que fueron algunos de los efectos utilizados para escenas de La venganza de los Sith (2005) de George Lucas.
