This film hasn't been picked up by an American distributor and I'd probably have to wait until it comes out on DVD. It screened November 1st and if anyone saw it - I would love, love, love to read a review. I read the short story and am a huge Sean Bean fan. The film is about a white soldier, named Loki (Sean Bean) who is stranded, near death in the Arctic circle - separated from his platoon. An Inuit woman rescues him (Michelle Yeoh). She is a middle aged woman who was kicked out of her tribe and ostracized. She adopted an abandoned little girl and raised the orphan as her own child. Loki has sexual feelings for both women and plays them off against each other. The young woman (Michelle Kuisic) is infatuated with Loki - the first man she has ever been in contact with since her childhood. A sexual triangle develops and a catastrophic plot development brings the film to a shocking conclusion. This is an indie film - shot on location in the Arctic in sub-zero weather on a very low budget. Michelle Yeoh and Sean Bean are established stars who've appeared in blockbuster Hollywood films - yet the script was so compelling to them, they took HUGE pay cuts to star in this film. Michelle Yeoh is an internationally acclaimed actress - the "Angenlina Jolie of Asia" - she co-starred in "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Sean Bean co-starred in "Lord of the Rings" as Borimir, "National Treasure" "Patriot Games" "Ronin" - the 15 episode UK television series "Sharpe" was the most successful British TV program in the history of UK TV.
